government of burundi must stop taking advantage of burundian forces by selling them to the Republic democratic of Congo as mercenaries.

🔴Business between Republic Democratic of Congo and  leaders of Burundi!

 The Burundian forces in Nord-Kivu have been suffering a lot.  Especially the soldiers in the Eighth Battalion and the Seventh Battalion in TAFOC.

 Yesterday (7.12.2023), Burundian soldiers were attacked by M23 at their base in Masisi.  The war was not easy for the Burundian soldiers, they were disarmed, M23 took control of the areas they were in charge of.

 The voices of the Burundian soldiers last night being shared  on WhatsApp are terrifying.  The news we are getting from our sources in the military is sad.  The main words  that come back from these voices and information are as follows:

 1. So many soldiers have died that the soldiers themselves say that they are traumatized and do not need to go back to fight in Masisi.  Soldiers say it will not be easy to identify the number of deads.

 2. The soldiers scattered and fled into the wilderness.  Also, when they see that the battle is not going well, the soldiers decide to move back altogether how to rearrange themselves and come to fight again (repli tactic).  It didn't happen like that  yesterday.  Every soldier who was in possession of the same, threw away a lot of armor and equipment, took different paths, and dispersed.  Some wrote to us saying that they were in the jungle  and did not know how to reach the road, others wrote to us saying that they had reached the shores of Lake Kivu.  Some told us that they chose to walk all the way to Sud-Kivu.

 3. Many soldiers say that they do not need to be paid to come and fight with M23 while Congolese soldiers do not even  want to fight for their country .  The soldiers of Burundi are very concerned about how the soldiers of the RDC are maltreating them  and letting them fighting alone. They always say that the Burundian soldiers  will be paid a lot of money  so they have to go and fight M23.  Last night they told us how some soldiers seem to have captured. The commander of the 2nd zone  of the 7th Battalion of TAFOC Tried to force soldiers  to return to the battle.  The soldiers see that their commander  wants to have  them  killed by M23.  Their camp place was not attacked but they had also left the place by the time M23 was attacking other camps .  Those soldiers want to be sent back to Sake, then Goma, then Sud-Kivu.

 4. There are soldiers who have written asking us to take them away: they are asking to be returned to   Burundi.  Others say they want the M23 to stop shooting at them as they flee on foot.  There are others who do not hesitate to write that they are betrayed  by the government of burundi and leaders of burundi Forces FDN

 🔴 WE ARE SOLD OUT!

 This is a word that comes up a lot in many audios of burundian soldiers in Congo.  Burundian soldiers do not understand why they would fight with M23.  They don't understand how to fight along with the Congolese army that doesn't want to fight for their nation .  They suffer because they don't have the right guns and other necessary  materials  that  soldiers need for the battle they are in.  They are very sad because of the uniform for  Congolese  army they are wearing.  They are worried about the money that the Congolese soldiers  keep  accusing them while in reality they are not receiving anything .

 One of the soldiers told us last night: "please let the Government of Burundi get us out of this war. If not,please inform our family that barely few of us will get out of here ! We're gonna die here almost all of us "

 When one hears the voices of others, of course it is very difficult for those soldiers to fight with others who know what they are fighting for.  A soldier who does not understand  why he is fighting, cannot win a battle.  When a soldier loses faith in those who lead him,the consequences are very dangerous. 

 🔴 The leaders of Burundi, when will you hear from your soldiers?

 The Burundian government remains silent and the current situation is disgusting.  The Burundian army was shocked as it had never happened before.  This is what we ask the government of burundi and we need answers. 

 1. Will the government continue to send  soldiers in wars they don't understand?

 2. What is being done to rescue the soldiers lost in the jungle of Congo?

 3. Is there anything to be done so that the soldiers who were captured by the M23 were released?

 4. Where is this money that our soldiers are insulted by their Congolese colleagues as bought?  When will soldiers be told the truth about this war they are being sent in ?

 5. When will the treason of dressing the Burundian army in RDC uniforms and the RDC flag, decorated with symbols, end?

 The commander of the Burundian army, where are you?  Get out of the country and see how the soldiers of Burundi are suffering  without any help.
